Hard to find words to describe the consistency of this horse, Woodmount Lolita was in the winner's circle again on the weekend! This time at Albury Wodonga International Horse Trials​, thank you to everyone involved in this great event. I also had Wimborne Conjuror in the EvA95, his dressage was quite tense this weekend but still very happy with his progress as he gains experience and his double clears saw him end in 9th place. Woodmount Lolita does it yet again! This time last year we had not even met this beautiful mare and last weekend she not only completed her first one star, she took out the win. Huge thanks to her owner Fiona Mitchell for her belief in us and for giving me the opportunity to ride this exciting horse! I was happy with Calypso completing the 2 star and placing 8th, and our young gun Wimborne Conjuror took the step up to EvA95 in his stride and placed 5th in his class! The trip interstate to Canberra International Horse Trials last weekend was well worth the drive! Three of the horses on the truck came home with placings. A first in the EvA80 for Wimborne Conjuror finishing on his dressage score in his last start at that level, it was great to see him starting to relax out in the ring now, looking forward to finishing the season at 95 with this guy! 2nd in the EvA105 for Woodmount Lolita, who continued her fantastic form and also finished on her dressage score. Huge thanks to Janet Houghton and the whole committee who work so hard and make and make the Spring Horse Trials a great event - the weather was even kind again this weekend at Werribee! Although both horses were working beautifully in the lead up, spring fever seemed to suddenly hit both Wimborne Conjuror and Woodmount Lolita on their dressage day – both were a bit unsettled in their tests but also produced some lovely work. Connor’s distraction continued into showjumping where he uncharacteristically dropped a rail, but his clear and under time cross country lifted him back to finish 6th [...]

What a great event we had at Friends Of Werribee Park Horse Trials to begin the new season! We finally got to put the winter training to the test and it showed with all horses performing perfectly to their individual plans and all of Sam's rides coming in roughly 5 seconds under the optimum time on xc! A highlight for Jaybee Calypso was the clear and under time cross country round in the CNC2star class to finish him in 5th place overall. Woodmount Lolita maintained her enviable record and comfortably finished 3rd in EvA105. Wimborne Conjuror is becoming stronger [...]

What a season it was for Jeffree Eventing! The first half of 2018 had its share of success and progress with all the horses as a result of a lot of hard work from the whole team, and like always there were curve balls thrown in too that are a constant part of working with horses. After much hard work and consolidation Jaybee Calypso found form again at 2 star level, coming 2nd in the CIC ** class at Wandin by a very close margin of just 0.1 penalties. The marathon that is Melbourne International 3 Day Event is done for another year and what an event it was! Jaybee Calypso produced our best test to date in the CCI** scoring an average of 74.75% from the 3 judges! He felt truly amazing out on cross country but is an unforgiving horse teaching me to be on my A game every step of the way and when there is a momentary lapse of communication as happened at the second water, everyone knows about it. This weekend Jeffree Eventing took on Woady HT. Since the recent announcement of Northern Isaacs retirement from the top levels and having had just a few rides Wendy took Isaac along to take part in the dressage. Woodmount Lolita finished off her season with yet another strong performance, jumping double clear with just a little time to finish 2nd in the EvA105. Ballarat HT… what a sport we do!! Eventing in the most trying conditions on Friday, the baby of the team Connor far exceeded all expectations with what he had to deal with, a bit distracted in dressage but trying his heart out. Jumped clear in showjumping and cross country giving an amazing feel! He has come so far in a few short months he will now have a break but Fiona Mitchell and I are very excited for next season with him already. We could not be happier with Caylpso in the 2 star!
